Professor Dai Bin, President of the China Tourism Academy, Yu Chong, Director of the Shandong Provincial Tourism Bureau, Zeng Min, Deputy Secretary-General of the Chengdu Municipal People's Government, An Jinming, Deputy Director of the Beijing Municipal Tourism Development Committee, Song Ming, Deputy Director of the Sichuan Provincial Tourism Bureau, Yang Qiying, Deputy Director of the Chengdu Municipal Tourism Bureau, Liu Mingliang, Deputy Secretary-General of the Shijiazhuang Municipal People's Government, Sheng Lei, Deputy Mayor of the Suzhou Municipal People's Government, Zhang Shimin, Deputy Mayor of the Luoyang Municipal People's Government, Zhou Tianwei, Deputy Mayor of the Huangshan Municipal People's Government, Gao Wenbin, Deputy Secretary-General of the Yan'an Municipal People's Government, etc. attended the press conference. Leaders and industry executives from more than 40 tourist city governments and tourism administrative departments, leaders in charge of 22 member units of Chengdu Tourism Industry Leading Group, leaders in charge of 20 district (city) and county people's governments and heads of tourism administrative departments in Chengdu, as well as representatives of media organizations such as People's Daily, Xinhua News Agency, CCTV, China Daily, China National Radio, People's Daily Overseas Edition, People's Daily Online, China.com, Travel Satellite TV, Chengdu TV, Hailan TV, China Tourism News, China Tourism Network, Chengdu Daily, etc. also attended the press conference. Zeng Min first delivered a welcome speech to the conference. She said that since the launch of the work of improving tourist satisfaction, the Chengdu Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government have always regarded it as an important means to promote tourism development, unified it into the overall development strategy of tourism in the city, effectively improved the external image of Chengdu tourism, and comprehensively promoted the healthy and benign development of Chengdu's tourism industry. At this meeting, the Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government will seriously learn from the good experiences and practices of improving tourist satisfaction in the participating cities, listen to the good suggestions and opinions of the participating experts, further optimize the quality of Chengdu tourism, improve Chengdu's external image, and create a leisure tourism capital that makes the people more satisfied. Dai Bin then delivered a keynote speech. He said that whether from the development environment or from the macro data, the past 2013 was the best year for my country's tourism development so far. The promulgation and implementation of the Tourism Law marks the arrival of the era of "promoting tourism and governing tourism according to law". The National Tourism and Leisure Outline gives us hope that the right to paid vacation can be implemented. Judging from the speeches of central and local leaders and the newly issued documents, the strategic position of the tourism industry is also gradually improving. While seeing the overall achievements, we are concerned about several structural problems in the operation of the tourism economy: first, the imbalance between the development quality represented by tourist satisfaction and the growth rate and scale of the tourism market; second, the mismatch between the changes in consumption structure and the adjustment of industrial supply structure; third, local governments have placed too high expectations on tourism development and use the planning thinking of industrial development to promote tourism investment and project construction. He said that based on the awakening of people's awareness of tourism and leisure and the improvement of their consumption capacity, the transformation of traditional tourism by capital and technology, the entrepreneurial efforts of young people, and the high attention paid by the central and local party committees and governments at all levels to the tourism industry, he is full of confidence in the operation of the national tourism economy in the new year and the future, and maintains a relatively optimistic outlook. He made two judgments on the fundamentals of the tourism economy. First, with the advent of the era of individual travel, self-guided tours and smart tourism, more and more tourists enter public places at the destination and participate in the normal life of the people. Cities and villages have begun to become a living space shared by foreign tourists and local residents. Second, after more than 30 years of market cultivation, regardless of whether their consumption capacity is high or low, tourists have generally developed a sense of rights and quality requirements. Tourists "enjoying while complaining" will be a normal evaluation that the government must face. He hoped that the development of tourism in various places would pay more attention to the tourism rights of the general public and pay more attention to the core demands of thousands of ordinary tourists; in the process of developing tourism, various places should give full play to the decisive role of the market in resource allocation, especially pay attention to the cultivation of local tourism market players; he also hoped that the government would better adapt to the changes in contemporary tourism development, keenly capture market changes, effectively enhance the leadership of government tourism departments, and play a greater role in pursuing better quality development. Next, Yu Chong, Director of the Shandong Provincial Tourism Bureau, made a keynote speech on "New Urbanization and Smart Tourism". An Jinming, Deputy Director of the Beijing Tourism Development Committee, made a keynote speech on "New Urbanization Promotes Tourism Transformation and Upgrading". Sheng Lei, Deputy Mayor of Suzhou Municipal People's Government, made a keynote speech on "Tourism Makes Cities More Beautiful". Zhou Tianwei, Deputy Mayor of Huangshan Municipal People's Government, made a keynote speech on how Huangshan can promote the integrated development of tourism with new urbanization and information technology to create an upgraded version of Huangshan tourism. Yin Jianhua, Chairman of Chengdu Cultural Tourism Group, made a keynote speech on "Leading cultural tourism and making life better". At the meeting, Song Ziqian, Associate Researcher, Director of the Policy Institute of China Tourism Research Institute, made an in-depth interpretation of the analysis of China's tourism economic operation in 2013 and the development forecast in 2014 and the "China Tourism Economy Blue Book (No.6)". The report shows that China's tourism economy operated steadily in 2013, with strong consumer demand, continuous investment growth, relatively prosperous industry operation, and accelerated transformation of development mode. However, affected by the rapid growth of outbound tourism, the international tourism trade deficit continued to expand. For the development of the tourism economy in 2014, we hold a relatively optimistic expectation and believe that it will continue the trend of steady and rapid growth. Associate Researcher Li Zhongguang, Director of the Industry Institute of China Tourism Research Institute, released the national tourist satisfaction survey report for the fourth quarter and the whole year of 2013 and the tourist satisfaction ranking of 60 cities. The report shows that the national tourist satisfaction index in 2013 was 74.88, at the "general" level, down 5.78 points from 2012, and the satisfaction of tourism complaints and quality supervision throughout the year has made a breakthrough. Environmental factors represented by air quality have become the main factors restricting the improvement of tourist satisfaction. There is still a long way to go to cultivate the tourism industry into a modern service industry that the people are more satisfied with. Dr. Chen Xu of the Industry Institute released the survey report on the satisfaction of Chinese citizens traveling abroad in the fourth quarter and the whole year of 2013 and the satisfaction ranking of 22 countries. The report shows that the satisfaction index of traveling abroad throughout the year was 78.88, reaching the "basic satisfaction" level. 9 of the 22 sample countries reached the "satisfied" level of more than 80 points.
