According to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism Data Center, 107 million domestic tourists traveled nationwide, an increase of 6.3% over the same period in 2019 on a comparable basis; the total expenditure of domestic tourists was 51.047 billion yuan, an increase of 8.0% over the same period in 2019.
Lantern festivals, fire dragon dances, moon worship and other cultural activities were held in various places to create a strong festive atmosphere, allowing people to experience the charm of traditional culture while enjoying the warmth of reunion. Many foreign tourists experienced the Mid-Autumn Festival folk activities and felt the Chinese culture and festive atmosphere. Popular cultural and museum sites "attracted attention", and a large number of citizens and tourists visited the museums. National art troupes presented wonderful offline and online performances, and the performance market in many places was active, bringing a rich cultural feast to the audience. During the three-day holiday, short-distance leisure travel was popular, and self-driving and high-speed rail became the main means of transportation. Theme parks, amusement parks, etc. welcomed a large number of parent-child family tourists, and theme routes, tourism performances, etc. enhanced the tourist experience. Many places introduced ticket reductions and other people-friendly measures, held cultural and tourism consumption promotion activities, released autumn tourism food routes, and created new cultural and tourism scenes. Night cultural tourism has become a new highlight of consumption. Many city squares and garden attractions have launched activities such as moon watching, garden tours, and lantern viewing, allowing the masses to enjoy the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday.
