On the morning of March 18, Shao Qiwei, Director of the National Tourism Administration, and Du Jiang, Deputy Director, listened to the work report of the Institute in Conference Room 1016. Director Dai Bin reported on the main work achieved by the Institute since its establishment, the future development ideas and several issues that need to be paid attention to. Deputy Director Du Jiang affirmed the work of the Institute since its establishment. He said that the Institute is not a large institution, but it has a great influence and has done a lot of work in a limited time. In particular, it has achieved good results in government think tanks and serving the industry. In the future, more efforts should be made in the construction of academic highlands. Only by doing a good job in basic academic research can we better serve the government and the industry. Director Shao Qiwei pointed out in his summary that since its establishment, the Institute has done a lot of work in more than two years, which has effectively promoted the development of China's tourism industry. It took a short time for the Institute to basically get on track from its inception, with many difficulties and considerable achievements. The greatest contribution it has made is that the development of the entire Chinese tourism industry has changed the concept of how to better rely on the support of science and technology and academic research. In the future, the Institute should pay more attention to the construction of basic projects, continue to promote the development of the two major supports of tourism, namely, academic and talent, and continue to work hard to cultivate tourism into a strategic pillar industry of the national economy and a modern service industry that is more satisfactory to the people. The Institute should look at tourism research work from an international perspective, expand its voice in the international arena, focus on supporting the academic research of tourism colleges, and integrate various forces to strive to publish national tourism academic journals and authoritative magazines as soon as possible. All relevant departments and offices within the Bureau should think about problems from a strategic perspective and actively support the development of the Institute. Peng Decheng, Director of the General Office of the National Tourism Administration, Liu Xiaojun, Director of the Policy and Regulations Department, Ma Jie, Deputy Director of the Planning and Finance Department, Cui Suxiang, Deputy Director of the Personnel Department, and Kong Lun, Director of the Secretariat of the General Office of the Bureau, Liang Qiuping, Director of the Administrative Department of the Institute, Xia Shaoyan, Head of the Scientific Research Management Department, and Ma Xiaolong, Head of the Regional Institute, attended the meeting.
