Our institute's urban tourism research base was unveiled in Shanghai

On April 2, the unveiling ceremony of the Urban Tourism Research Base of our institute was held at Shanghai Normal University, the supporting unit of the institute. The meeting was chaired by Professor Gao Jun, the chief expert of the base and vice dean of the School of Tourism of Shanghai Normal University. Yang Weiwu, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of Shanghai Normal University and dean of the School of Tourism, Wang Xingfang, director of the Science and Technology Department of Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, Zhu Guojian, deputy director of the Policy and Regulations Department of Shanghai Municipal Tourism Administration, Professor Feng Xuegang, vice dean of the School of Business of East China Normal University, and the heads of the university-level and college-level science and technology departments of Shanghai Normal University attended the unveiling ceremony and expressed their support for the establishment of the base and their expectations for the next step of development.

Dean Dai Bin said that the establishment of 12 external research institutions of the China Tourism Research Institute, including the Urban Tourism Research Base, is not only a need for the development of the institute's disciplines, but also a layout of the National Tourism Administration to use the academic community to serve the development of national disciplines. China's total tourism revenue has reached 1.4 trillion, of which a large proportion of tourism activities carried out in cities. Therefore, the development of the tourism industry economy requires institutions and research teams that can track and study urban tourism for a long time. Regarding the establishment of the Urban Tourism Research Base based on Shanghai Normal University, Dean Dai Bin put forward two expectations: first, to conduct long-term tracking research on urban tourism, produce landmark results, introduce international experience, and spread China's voice; second, to combine the construction of the base with the school's discipline construction and talent training.

During his stay in Shanghai, Dean Dai Bin also gave academic reports to teachers and students of the School of Tourism of Shanghai Normal University on the current tourism economic situation, the problems faced by the development of the tourism industry, and how to make scientific research serve tourism education and industrial development. At the invitation of Dean Yang Weiwu, Dean Dai Bin also visited the teaching and training equipment and facilities of the school and spoke highly of the school's educational philosophy and teaching facilities.
