Data release | China Tourism Academy and Mafengwo jointly released a big data report on free travel in Northwest China

Following the release of the Colorful South China, Splendid Southwest China, and Magnificent East China free travel big data reports, the "Free Travel Big Data Joint Laboratory" jointly established by the China Tourism Academy and Mafengwo Travel Network released the "Magnificent Northwest - China's Provincial Free Travel Big Data Series Report on the Northwest Region".

Based on the tourism big data of both sides, the report deeply analyzes the current situation and future development trend of the tourism market in the five provinces and municipalities in Northwest China - Shaanxi Province, Gansu Province, Qinghai Province, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, and Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. The report shows that among the five provinces and municipalities in Northwest China, the popularity of tourism in Qinghai has increased by more than 300%, leading other Northwest destinations; the number of travel notes in Xinjiang has increased by 162%, and tourists are highly interested in strategy; the ancient capital of Xi'an has become a popular tourist destination; Gansu has reconstructed a new development pattern of the "Symphonic Silk Road" and built Dunhuang into an international cultural city; film and television variety shows have boosted the Ningxia tourism brand, and Yinchuan and Zhongwei are popular filming locations. The most concerned independent travelers to Shaanxi tourism are mainly from Beijing, Shanghai and Tianjin. The popular experiences in the Northwest are very local. Cycling around the Xi'an City Wall, hiking and camping in the Tengger Desert, and travel photography at the Chaka Salt Lake are experiences and ways of playing favored by many tourists.
