On July 11, 2013, the press conference for the analysis of tourism economic operation and tourist satisfaction survey report in the first half of 2013 was held in the studio of People's Daily Online, hosted by China Tourism Academy and co-organized by People's Daily Online Tourism Channel and Travel Satellite TV. Researcher Zhang Guangrui, Director of Tourism Research Center of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Wang Qing, Director of Tourism Environment and Public Service Division of Beijing Tourism Development Committee, Mr. Sun Jinwei, General Manager of HNA Tourism Strategy and Development Innovation Department, Zheng Lidong, General Manager of Tourism Development Division of Yisheng Tourism, and Associate Researcher Li Zhongguang, Director of Industry Institute of China Tourism Academy, attended the press conference. Representatives from media organizations such as People's Daily, Xinhua News Agency, CCTV, China National Radio, China Radio International, China Tourism News, Economic Daily, Ta Kung Pao, CCTV.com, China.com, Sina.com, and Sohu.com also attended the press conference.

First, Associate Researcher Li Zhongguang released the analysis of tourism economic operation in the first half of 2013 and the trend forecast report for the second half of the year. The report shows that in the first half of 2013, my country's tourism economy has generally been stable and has made progress, showing the coexistence of steady development and structural adjustment. The market fundamentals show "two highs and one decline", and the structural adjustment of industry and regional operation has been significantly accelerated due to the development environment such as the macro economy, and the game between market players has intensified. Looking forward to the second half of the year, the inbound market still faces great difficulties, the domestic mass tourism market has a stable foundation, and the intensity of commercial innovation has been further increased. The overall operation of the tourism economy is "relatively optimistic".

Dr. He Qiongfeng of the Institute of Industry released the National Tourist Satisfaction Survey Report for the Second Quarter of 2013. The report shows that the tourist satisfaction index in the second quarter of 2013 was at a "general" level of 74.49, showing a continuous downward trend since the beginning of this year. Tourists' actual feelings about tourism services and comprehensive development indicators such as natural, social, economic, and safety of destinations have declined significantly, the satisfaction of inbound tourists has continued to decline significantly, the proportion of complaints has increased, and the satisfaction of tourists in remote destinations in the northwest has lagged behind in all aspects.

Dr. Chen Xu from the Institute of Industry released a survey report on the satisfaction of Chinese citizens traveling abroad in the second quarter of 2013. The report shows that Chinese citizens were generally satisfied with their overseas travel in the second quarter of 2013, with the UK, Germany and Australia ranking the top three. The overseas travel satisfaction index was 80.24, higher than 76.58 in the first quarter, reaching the "satisfactory" level. Among the 22 sample countries and regions, 15 reached the "satisfactory" level of more than 80 points.

Afterwards, Associate Researcher Li Zhongguang hosted the roundtable discussion. Researcher Zhang Guangrui, Director Wang Qing, General Manager Zheng Lidong, Dr. He Qiongfeng, Dr. Chen Xu and others conducted in-depth discussions on the current overall economic situation and structural issues, sharing of experience in improving satisfaction, whether exit tax should be levied, and other issues, and answered questions from the media on site.
