Professor Dai Bin, President of China Tourism Research Institute, attended the press conference and delivered a keynote speech. Li Guang, General Manager of Quality Inspection and Compliance Department of China Youth Travel Service, Xian Wenmin, Director of Life Travel Business of JD Open Platform Business Unit, Li Zhongguang, Deputy Researcher of Industry Institute of China Tourism Research Institute, and Tang Xiaoyun, Deputy Researcher in charge of National Tourism Economy Laboratory, attended the press conference. Representatives from media organizations such as People's Daily, Xinhua News Agency, CCTV, China Radio International, China Daily, Economic Daily, China Tourism News, China.com, CCTV.com, China Tourism Network, Sohu Network, Phoenix Network, China Economic Network, Blue Ocean Television, and Travel Agency Magazine also attended the press conference. Dai Bin pointed out in his speech that the tourism market maintained a sustained and rapid growth trend in the first three quarters of this year, and it is expected that the annual target can be fully achieved. The quality of typical tourism services such as food, accommodation, transportation, tourism, shopping, and entertainment, as well as the satisfaction levels of travel agencies and scenic spots, have reached a satisfactory level among domestic tourists. The tourism service has reached the level proposed in the National Quality Development Outline 2011-2020, which aims to achieve a customer satisfaction score of 75 or above in the life service industry by 2015. In August, the State Council officially adopted the "Several Opinions on Promoting the Reform and Development of the Tourism Industry", which positions tourism as an important component of modern service industry and people's living standards at the central government level. This requires us to use a scientific tourism concept to guide the current and future tourism development, and respect the objective laws of tourism economic development. He stated that only by meeting the three basic requirements of tourism consumption: willingness to consume tourism, disposable income, and disposable time, can tourism consumption continue to grow. In the process of promoting tourism development, the government has focused on policy design, from the 2009 "Opinions on Accelerating the Development of Tourism Industry", 2013 "National Tourism and Leisure Outline", "Tourism Law", to this year's "Several Opinions on Promoting the Reform and Development of Tourism Industry". The policy emphasizes recognizing that tourism is worth developing and allowing the people to make their own decisions on their itinerary. From the perspective of policy implementation, tourism is a comprehensive industry that requires the joint efforts of government departments to grasp. He emphasized that there is no such thing as a closed tourism world, and tourism destinations are increasingly becoming a sum of living environments. Market mechanisms need to play an increasingly important role in resource allocation, and governments need to use professional, rational, forward-looking, and targeted policy designs to continuously optimize our tourism development environment and promote the development of the tourism industry. Regarding the trade deficit in tourism services, he believes that a trade deficit of 100 billion US dollars is tolerable for China's current situation, and there is no need for excessive interpretation or policy intervention. But we should think about how to use this $100 billion trade deficit to allow ordinary people to go out and play while improving their own quality, and establish a good image of China. Subsequently, Dr. Chen Xu from the National Tourism Economy Laboratory of our institute released a report on the analysis of tourism economy operation and annual trend forecast for the first three quarters of 2014. The report concluded that the tourism market maintained a sustained and rapid growth trend in the first three quarters, with more active industrial investment and business innovation. It is expected that in the first three quarters, the total number of tourists received nationwide will be 2.8 billion, achieving a tourism revenue of 2.4 trillion yuan. The annual goal can be fully achieved. It is expected that the total number of tourists received throughout the year will be 3.72 billion, a year-on-year increase of 10%. The total revenue of tourism reception for the whole year was 3.3 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 14.6%. Dr. Jiang Yanxia from the Industry Institute has released the third quarter national tourist satisfaction survey report. According to the survey, the national tourist satisfaction index in the third quarter of 2014 was 74.52, which, although still at a "moderate" level, increased by 0.23 year-on-year and 1.68 month on month. The overall satisfaction of domestic tourists is improving, with the quality of tourism services such as food, accommodation, transportation, tourism, shopping, and entertainment, as well as the satisfaction of travel agencies, scenic spots, and other industries, all at their highest levels since the survey, reaching the level of "basic satisfaction". Dr. He Qiongfeng from the Industry Institute has released the third quarter satisfaction survey report on Chinese citizens' overseas travel. The report shows that in the third quarter of 2014, the satisfaction index of Chinese citizens' overseas travel was at the "basic satisfaction" level of 76.98, with a stable increase compared to the previous quarter, but still at a relatively low level of satisfaction. This quarter, the satisfaction evaluation of Chinese citizens towards the image, urban construction, urban management, public services, and industry services of foreign destinations remained at a high level of around 80 points, with an increase compared to the previous quarter. The main reason for the ineffective improvement of tourist satisfaction in this quarter is that the proportion of complaints and grievances from tourists has not decreased, and loyalty indicators such as revisit rate and recommendation rate are not high. Finally, the attending guests conducted an in-depth roundtable discussion on "Tourism Economic Situation and Tourist Satisfaction Improvement". Also attending the press conference were members of our hospital's relevant research group.
