Consultation report on promoting the construction of Hainan International Tourism Island in Haikou

As the capital city of Hainan Province, Haikou has the unshirkable responsibility to shoulder the heavy responsibility of building an international tourism island. However, the reality of Hainan's tourism development is "one city, one peninsula, and several bays". In the tourism pattern, Haikou has been gradually marginalized and has become a transit point for Hainan tourism. From the perspective of the province's tourism development and the functional positioning of Haikou as a provincial capital, Haikou must regain its position and take up the main responsibility. Entrusted by the Haikou Municipal Tourism Bureau, the China Tourism Research Institute undertook the research and compilation of the consulting report "The Role of Haikou in the Construction of Hainan International Tourism Island". The project aims to use a new perspective and unique vision to jump out of tourism and re-examine the status and role of Haikou from the perspective of the overall economy and society, so as to find the correct positioning and starting point for Haikou in the construction of an international tourism island, and build Haikou into an important growth pole for the international tourism island.
