Entrusted by the National Tourism Administration and chaired by President Dai Bin, the Institute undertook the research work of the topic "Research on the Index System of World-Class Tourism Cities". The report was led by the regional institutes and integrated the forces inside and outside the institute for joint research. The report believes that building a world-class tourism city has a series of major significances, such as helping to improve the quality of urban tourism, promoting the great development of urban tourism, and helping cities seize the commanding heights of the tourism industry. At the same time, it points out that a world-class tourism city should have complete facilities and services, tourism product development pays attention to the protection of cultural connotations and traditions, tourism development and environmental protection complement each other, attach importance to tourism publicity and joint promotion, and attach great importance to the quality of the tourism industry. Finally, according to the four principles of the world-class tourism city evaluation index system, namely, the diversification of tourism resources, the convenience of tourism services, the refinement of tourism management, and the internationalization of the tourism market, a world-class tourism city evaluation index system with three levels of target layer, criterion layer, and index layer was constructed.
