During the Qingming Festival holiday in 2026, the national cultural and tourism market was safe, stable and orderly. According to the data center of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, during the three-day holiday, 135 million domestic tourists visited the country, up by 6.8% year-on-year; the total domestic tourism expenditure was 61.367 billion yuan, up by 6.6% year-on-year.

The memorial parks, commemorative venues and red tourism attractions have witnessed a peak of tomb-sweeping activities. All sectors of society express their remembrance through activities such as presenting flower baskets and observing silence. Various regions have implemented green and civilized tomb-sweeping methods like "cloud tomb-sweeping" and "online flower offerings", highlighting the new trend of the times. Many places have closely combined remembrance and patriotism education. For instance, in Guoyuan, Ningxia, Ji'an, Jiangxi's Jinggangshan, and Zunyi in Guizhou, red-themed activities are held to consolidate the sense of the nation and the country.
The integration of flower appreciation and spring outings with cultural and tourism consumption has promoted the transformation of the spring economy towards an experiential model. Holiday concerts and music festivals were held in concentrated form, driving the warming of surrounding cultural and tourism consumption. The night-time cultural and tourism economy has steadily grown, with a cumulative night-time visitor volume of 454,854,000 people in the national-level night-time cultural and tourism consumption clusters.
The combined spring break and Qingming holiday provided a long consecutive break, effectively meeting the demand for family outings. Schools in places like Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, and Guizhou offered spring breaks, resulting in the longest consecutive break of 6 days, significantly boosting family travel. The proportion of minors among air and high-speed rail passengers increased, and the number of passengers traveling over 800 kilometers saw a significant increase. The amount of orders for family trips accounted for 37% of the total tourism orders nationwide, becoming the core group of the market. Places like Hubei and Sichuan launched a series of cultural and tourism activities around the spring break to meet the diverse needs of family travel.
