The 2nd 2010 China Tourism Science Annual Conference was held in Beijing

Following the success of the first China Tourism Science Annual Conference in 2009, the second China Tourism Science Annual Conference 2010, hosted by the China Tourism Academy, was held at the Beijing Marriott Hotel on April 10. Du Jiang, Deputy Director of the National Tourism Administration and President of the China Tourism Academy, attended the annual conference and delivered a speech. Deputy Director Du Jiang pointed out that 2009 was an extremely extraordinary year in the development of China's tourism industry. We have experienced wind and rain, but also saw the rainbow. Facing the double baptism of the global financial crisis and influenza A, Chinese tourism people, under the correct leadership of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, responded calmly and maintained a steady and rapid growth in the tourism industry. The total tourism revenue for the whole year reached 1.29 trillion yuan, an increase of 11.3%. It is particularly encouraging that on December 1, the "Opinions of the State Council on Accelerating the Development of the Tourism Industry" was officially issued, which clearly proposed "cultivating the tourism industry into a strategic pillar industry of the national economy and a modern service industry that the people are more satisfied with." On December 18, the National People's Congress Finance and Economics Committee held the first plenary meeting of the drafting group of the "Tourism Law", and the drafting of my country's "Tourism Law" was officially launched. This is an important strategic decision made by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council with an eye on the overall development of my country's economic and social development in the new era. my country's tourism industry has been fully incorporated into the national strategic system! The national strategy has not only brought a new spring to the development of my country's tourism industry, but also brought new historical opportunities to tourism scientific research. The National Tourism Administration attaches great importance to tourism scientific research and will include strengthening the basic theoretical research of tourism in the overall key work in 2010; continue to invite experts and scholars to attend the 2010 National Tourism Work Conference to make suggestions for the development of my country's tourism industry; in order to promote the implementation of the State Council's Document No. 41, Director Shao Qiwei and other bureau leaders specifically listened to the opinions of the academic committee members of the China Tourism Academy; after successfully launching the National Tourism Administration's tourism scientific research project in 2009, this year the National Tourism Administration's tourism scientific research results evaluation work was launched. The tourism industry finally has its own provincial and ministerial scientific research projects and scientific research awards! Mr. Shen Baojia, a famous tourism scholar in my country and academic consultant of the China Tourism Academy, and Dr. Francesco Iannello, Minister of Tourism Affairs of the European Union, attended the meeting. Responsible comrades of relevant departments and directly affiliated units of the National Tourism Administration, and representatives of tourism journals, tourism management, tourism science and other institutions attended the meeting. Mr. Ding Xiaoliang, Vice President of Ctrip.com, the sponsor of the annual meeting, delivered a speech. Mr. Zhang Jianzhong, Director of the Policy and Regulations Department of the National Tourism Administration, announced the results of scientific research projects on behalf of the National Tourism Administration. Experts from national representative tourism education and research institutions and tourism government agencies attended the meeting. Most of the famous experts in related fields attended and prepared relevant papers. Professor Wei Xiaoan, Director of the Academic Committee of the China Tourism Academy, took the theme of "Following Practice, Leading Development" and summarized the tourism practices in the past year from 12 aspects, including the scale of tourism investment and tourism development in the era of high speed, large real estate and low consumption; Researcher Shi Peihua, Vice President of the China Tourism Academy, took the theme of "Serving the National Strategy and Taking on the Academic Mission - Academic Interpretation of Document No. 41 of the State Council", interpreted the academic research tasks and scientific research directions of China's tourism proposed in Document No. 41, and analyzed and proposed 10 major scientific research topics to support the development of my country's tourism industry; Dr. Francesco Iannello, Minister of Tourism Affairs of the European Union, gave a speech on the theme of sustainable development; Ms. Maria Janssen Verbeek, a lifetime honorary professor of the University of Leuven and a member of the International Tourism Academy, gave a speech on the development of heritage sustainable tourism; Professor Song Haiyan, Vice Dean of the School of Hotel and Tourism Management of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, gave a speech on the research on the satisfaction index of Hong Kong tourists; Professor Zhang Lingyun, Dean of the Tourism Development Research Institute of Beijing International Studies University, gave a speech on "The Current Situation and Prospect of my country's Tourism Academic Research in 2009 - Based on the Statistical Analysis of Papers in 4+1 Tourism Academic Journals in my country "; Professor Xie Yanjun, Dean of the School of Tourism and Hotel Management of Dongbei University of Finance and Economics, gave a special speech on the theme of "Three Faces of Tourism-Different Positions of Government, Academia and Industry in Interpreting Tourism". In the afternoon, the conference was divided into three groups for special discussions: Youth Forum, Document Discussion and Hot Spot Outlook. Professor Shen Baojia, Academic Advisor of China Tourism Research Institute and a famous tourism scholar, gave a speech on the issues of tourism research methods and tourism strategic industries. He pointed out that in tourism research, one must break all kinds of rules and regulations; second, in tourism research, one must thoroughly understand the methods, otherwise the door will not be opened. Mr. Shen also expressed his hope to young people: "Don't be satisfied, and keep surpassing yourself." Vice President Dai Bin of China Tourism Research Institute made a concluding speech, pointing out that for Chinese tourism scholars, the goal is that the academic mission of tourism scholars should be closely related to national strategies; the times have given tourism scholars a very rich market foundation, and also enabled us to shoulder responsibilities in the international tourism academic vision and the process of China's international tourism development. China Tourism Academy is willing to build such a platform for everyone, through the conference, through scientific research project establishment, scientific research awards, through other research projects, to strengthen cooperation with international peers including Europe, and to work closely with the industry, academia and government to jointly achieve everyone's goals.
