During the three-day Qingming Festival, cultural and tourism products were abundant in various regions, and the market was stable and orderly. Based on the data reported and provided by local tourism departments, communication operators, and online travel service providers, the China Tourism Academy (Data Center of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism) calculated that the total number of domestic tourists received during the Qingming Festival in 2019 was 112 million, a year-on-year increase of 10.9%; tourism revenue reached 47.89 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 13.7%. No major or serious travel-related safety accidents or complaints occurred in the country.
1. Extensive supply of tourism products
Flowers are blooming everywhere, and there are colorful activities such as outings to enjoy flowers, special performances, folk culture displays, calligraphy and painting exhibitions, and opera performances. Urban cultural leisure is active, and short trips to nearby areas are popular. Climbing high to enjoy the spring or picking fruits with the family has become the first choice for tourists. Data shows that short trips to nearby areas account for more than 60% during the Qingming Festival.
2. Participation in many cultural activities
During the holidays, folk culture tours, represented by museums, cultural heritage and small towns, religious prayers, and folk customs, are popular. The survey shows that 54.33%, 32.36%, 38.24%, 37.23% and 42.91% of the respondents visited museums, art galleries, libraries, science and technology museums and historical and cultural blocks, respectively.
3. High enthusiasm for red tourism
Data shows that online ticket purchases for red-themed scenic spots increased by 55.2% year-on-year. Historical museums, revolutionary martyrs' memorial halls, anti-Japanese war memorial halls and other red tourism scenic spots in various places have launched Qingming theme activities. While visiting red scenic spots and remembering revolutionary martyrs, tourists' feelings for their country and family have been further sublimated.
4. Civilized tourism becomes the norm
Various places have played an important role in guiding tourists to establish cultural confidence by holding public welfare cultural activities during the Qingming Festival, advocating civilized forms of sacrifice, and promoting excellent traditional Chinese virtues such as ancestor worship, respect for the elderly, and gratitude. Many tourists carry garbage bags, so that "people go and garbage goes", and tourists enjoy the beautiful spring scenery in a civilized manner, with a high quality of holiday life.
