On April 11, 2012, the academic achievements conference of the China Tourism Research Institute, sponsored by the China Tourism Research Institute and co organized by the People's Daily Online Travel Channel, was held in Beijing. Dai Bin, President of the China Tourism Research Institute, Wang Qiyan, Professor of the People's University of China, Sun Changwei, Director of the Beijing Tourism Business Department of Ctrip, and Dr. Yang Honghao, Deputy Director of the Hotel Management Department of the Supervision Department of the National Tourism Administration, attended the conference. Representatives from media organizations such as People's Daily, Xinhua News Agency, CCTV, Tourism Satellite TV, Economic Daily, China Tourism News, and China Tourism Network also attended the press conference. Dean Dai Bin first delivered a keynote speech, pointing out that a customer survey on leisure tourism conducted by the China Tourism Research Institute and Ctrip showed that tourist attraction tickets have entered the era of 100 yuan, with over 15% of 5A level scenic spot tickets exceeding 200 yuan during peak season, which is worrying. He believes that in the early stages of the operation of China's tourism economy, the first problem to be solved is whether there is any, and the second is whether it is good or not. How to enable more people to share the fruits of tourism and participate in tourism activities requires creating a more favorable social environment. He hopes that the "Tourism Law" and the "National Leisure Outline" can be introduced as soon as possible, to implement paid leave well, to truly implement laws, regulations, and policy instructions, to treat inevitable problems in the development stage of tourism with a tolerant attitude, gradually improve the problems existing in tourism, and promote the healthy development of China's tourism industry.

Dr. Yang Yanfeng of the China Tourism Academy released the results of the tourism economy operation and national tourist satisfaction survey report for the first quarter of 2012. The results show that the tourism economy was relatively prosperous in the first quarter, and the investment, consumption and inbound tourism that drove growth all developed steadily. The structural contradictions in both time and space and the pressure of changing the development mode still exist, and market innovation and policy innovation are accelerating. In the first quarter of 2012, the national tourist satisfaction index was at the "basic satisfaction" level of 79.80, an increase of 1.19 compared with last year.

Dr. Huang Huang of the Regional Institute released the "Research Report on China's Leisure Tourism Customer Demand Trends". According to the analysis of the report, the current characteristics and trends of leisure tourism are mainly reflected in four aspects, namely, obvious economic characteristics, obvious upgrading trend, more attention to urban comprehensive supporting services, and the increasingly prominent tourism service functions of the Internet. In addition, based on the development trends of new leisure tourism formats and new demands in China, the report also studied the industry status and development trends of six new formats: high-end tourism, independent travel, cruise tourism, hot spring tourism and travel insurance.

Dr. Zhang Youyin of the Regional Institute released the "Regional Tourism Development Annual Report (2011-2012)". The report analysis shows that in 2011, the potential outbound travel power of regional tourism in my country still maintained the overall pattern of "7:2:1" between the eastern, central and western regions. The tourism development performance showed that the eastern region was higher than the central and western regions, and the tourism development speed in the western region was higher than that in the eastern region. The status of tourism flows between and within the Bohai Rim, the Yangtze River Delta and the Pearl River Delta regions in the construction of my country's source-destination tourism space system is more prominent. Unbalanced development has become a long-term feature of regional tourism, which is difficult to change significantly in the short term and has largely restricted the improvement of the overall quality of the national tourism industry. Correspondingly, the macro policy system and micro management methods of the national and local governments for regional tourism development show obvious lags. Promoting regional balance should become a long-term strategic task for national tourism development.

Subsequently, Dean Dai Bin, Professor Wang Qiyan of Renmin University of China, Sun Changwei, Director of Beijing Tourism Business Department of Ctrip.com, Dr. Yang Honghao, Deputy Director of Hotel Management Division of Supervision Department of National Tourism Administration, Dr. Ma Xiaolong, Deputy Director of Regional Institute of China Tourism Academy, Dr. Wu Pu, Dr. Huang Huang, Dr. Zhang Youyin, and Dr. Yang Yanfeng and Dr. Chen Xu of Industry Institute attended three roundtable discussions, namely, the first quarter tourism economic operation and national tourist satisfaction seminar, the "China Leisure Tourism Customer Demand Trend Research Report" seminar, and the "Regional Tourism Development Annual Report (2011-2012)", and answered questions from the host and on-site media.

Also attending the press conference were members of relevant research groups of our institute.
