On October 14, 2013, the press conference for the analysis of tourism economic operation and tourist satisfaction survey report in the third quarter of 2013, hosted by China Tourism Academy and co-organized by People's Daily Tourism Channel and Travel Satellite TV, was held in the People's Daily studio. Professor Dai Bin, President of China Tourism Academy, Professor Zhang Lingyun, Vice President of the School of Tourism of Beijing Union University, Zhou Tao, General Manager of the Customer Management Department of China Travel Service, and Associate Researcher Li Zhongguang, Director of the Industry Institute of China Tourism Academy, attended the press conference. Representatives from media organizations such as People's Daily, Xinhua News Agency, CCTV, China National Radio, China Radio International, China Tourism News, Economic Daily, China News Service, CCTV.com, China.com, Sohu.com, and Phoenix.com also attended the press conference. President Dai Bin first delivered a keynote speech. He pointed out that judging from the data in the third quarter, due to the promotion of mass tourism consumption, the operation of tourism economy has passed the lowest point and entered the rising channel. However, there are still some structural problems while rising, including structural problems within the market, structural coordination problems on the supply side, and how to focus more on the needs of the people.
He believes that in the operation of tourism economy, structural imbalance is the most important issue affecting the recovery of tourism economy, which is not only reflected in the quantity of economic operation, but also in the quality of tourism economic operation. From the perspective of tourists' satisfaction, structural problems are very prominent. The basic situation in the first three quarters is not very satisfactory. The main reason is that the market structure has changed. Now is an era dominated by individual tourists. The needs of the people, the travel methods of individual tourists, and all aspects of society may have an impact on this, such as weather reasons. Looking forward to the tourism economic situation throughout the year, he is full of confidence in future development. He believes that with the east wind of reform, the development of tourism will promote the marketization of my country's economic operation. With the demand market of the people and the increasingly market-oriented supply, the spring of tourism is getting closer and closer.
Subsequently, Li Zhongguang, associate researcher and director of the Institute of Industry of our institute, released a report on the analysis of tourism economic operation in the first three quarters of 2013 and the forecast of the trend for the whole year. The report believes that in the first three quarters of 2013, the operation of my country's tourism economy was generally stable with a slight rise. At present, the domestic and foreign tourism development environment is improving, the national tourism market is growing rapidly, the industry is recovering in an all-round way, and regional tourism is relatively active. The tourism economy is at a critical node of short-term correction, and structural imbalance is still the main challenge in the recovery channel. Looking forward to the whole year, the operation trend of the tourism economy is "relatively optimistic" and will continue to recover steadily. The overall development goal for the whole year will be achieved, but inbound tourism will decline slightly.
Dr. He Qiongfeng of the Industry Institute released the third quarter national tourist satisfaction survey report. The report shows that in the third quarter of 2013, the national tourist satisfaction still did not get out of the low level since the beginning of this year, and was at the "average" level of 74.29. The survey shows that under the background that the government's improvement in tourism complaint management has begun to show results and the overall environment of urban and rural destinations is attracting great attention from all parties, the problems of travel shopping, forced consumption, civilized travel and so on directed at travel agencies are the key factors affecting the satisfaction of tourists, especially group tourists. Taking advantage of the opportunity of the formal implementation of the Tourism Law, strengthening law enforcement and supervision on typical problems of travel agencies is a key measure to boost confidence in the tourism market.
Dr. Chen Xu from the Industry Institute released a survey report on Chinese citizens' satisfaction with overseas travel in the third quarter of 2013. The report showed that the overseas travel satisfaction index was 79.63, lower than 80.24 in the second quarter, close to the "satisfied" level. Among the 22 sample countries and regions, 14 reached a "satisfied" level of more than 80 points.
Finally, the guests held a roundtable discussion on "Tourism Economic Situation and Improving Tourist Satisfaction" and jointly answered questions from the media and netizens.
