Notice of the General Office of the State Council on the Arrangements for Some Holidays in 2025 (Guobanfadian [2024] No. 12)
The People's Governments of all provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities directly under the Central Government, and all ministries, commissions, and directly affiliated agencies of the State Council:
Approved by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, and in accordance with the National Holidays and Memorial Days Regulations revised in November 2024, starting from January 1, 2025, all citizens will have two more days off, including one more day for the Spring Festival and Labor Day. Based on this, the principle of holiday adjustment will be further optimized and improved. Except for some special circumstances, the Spring Festival will be an 8-day holiday from the Lunar New Year's Eve, the National Day will be a 7-day holiday from October 1, the Labor Day will be a 5-day holiday, the New Year's Day, Qingming Festival, Dragon Boat Festival, and Mid-Autumn Festival will be holidays or consecutive holidays for 3 days (if they fall on Wednesdays, they will only be holidays on that day), and if the National Day falls on the Mid-Autumn Festival, they will be combined into an 8-day holiday.
In accordance with the above principles, the specific arrangements for the 2025 New Year's Day, Spring Festival, Tomb-Sweeping Day, Labor Day, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holidays are hereby notified as follows.
1. New Year's Day: One-day holiday on January 1 (Wednesday), no adjustment.
2. Spring Festival: January 28 (Lunar New Year’s Eve, Tuesday) to February 4 (Lunar New Year’s Day, Tuesday), a total of 8 days of holiday. January 26 (Sunday) and February 8 (Saturday) are back to work.
3. Qingming Festival: Holiday from April 4 (Friday) to 6 (Sunday), a total of 3 days.
4. Labor Day: May 1 (Thursday) to May 5 (Monday) are holidays, a total of 5 days. Work will resume on April 27 (Sunday).
5. Dragon Boat Festival: 3 days holiday from May 31 (Saturday) to June 2 (Monday).
6. National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival: October 1 (Wednesday) to 8 (Wednesday) are holidays, a total of 8 days. September 28 (Sunday) and October 11 (Saturday) are work days.
During the holidays, all regions and departments must properly arrange duty and safety, security, epidemic prevention and control work. In the event of major emergencies, they must report them in a timely manner and properly handle them in accordance with regulations to ensure that the people spend the holidays in peace and safety.
