Xing Ying, President of the World Federation of Chinese Catering Industry, had a special exchange with Dean Dai Bin. President Xing Ying pointed out that food tourism is a new track for tourism development, which plays an important role in promoting urban publicity, cultural dissemination, and the development of the catering industry. The World Chinese Food Federation has conducted beneficial explorations on the operation of the International Catering Industry Academy, multilingual translation of Chinese dish names, and industrialization of local specialty ingredients. The industry association is creating new market demand through specialized supply and continuously creating a strong tourism and catering consumption atmosphere through differentiated demand. Wang Wenjiang, Deputy Secretary General of the World Federation of Chinese Catering Industry, provided a detailed introduction to the current work carried out by the federation in terms of brand promotion, industry competitions, education and training, industry research, and membership services.
Dean Dai Bin first highly affirmed the positive efforts and contributions made by the World Federation of Chinese Catering Industry to promote the dissemination and development of Chinese culinary culture. Dai Bin pointed out that as an influential industry organization, the World Federation of Chinese Catering Industry should be full of a sense of mission, enhance its discourse power by setting issues, fulfill its mission of influencing social consumption preferences, and strive to enhance the industrial status of Chinese cuisine; With the exchange, mutual learning, and integration of global civilizations, people are more willing to pay for non-material and non functional cultural needs. It is worth considering how industry associations can organically combine the "core" of culture with the "shell" of industry, achieve the persistence and inheritance of catering culture, and make it move from an accidental cultural phenomenon to a systematic industrial root; In the future, we can strengthen cooperation between the research institute and the association, combining the advantages of the research institute in data support, theoretical summary, and ideological improvement with the advantages of the association in linking market entities, hosting large-scale events, and international exchange channels and platforms. We can tell the story of Chinese catering well to the outside world and promote the deep integration of culture and tourism.
Wang Ling, Deputy Secretary General of the World Federation of Chinese Catering Industry, Peng Cheng, Deputy Secretary General, Liu Runze, Director of the Industry Research Department, Dr. Wu Fenglin, Director of the Planning and Leisure Institute of China Tourism Research Institute, and visiting scholar Ma Jing participated in this research symposium.
