High-quality development of food tourism and a series of activities on the construction of Northeast Asian tourism destinations were held in Dalian

On May 25, the "High-quality Development of Food Tourism and Construction of Northeast Asian Tourism Destination Series of Activities and Closing Ceremony of Liaoning Province Northeast Asian Food Culture and Tourism Week" was held at Dalian World Expo Square, co-organized by China Tourism Academy and Liaoning Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, and hosted by Dalian Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism and Dalian Municipal Bureau of Commerce. Representatives of cities, blocks and enterprises benchmarking China's food tourism, cultural and tourism systems of various cities in Liaoning Province, food-related industry associations, travel agency leaders and scenic spot representatives, catering enterprise representatives, media reporters, etc. participated in the event. The event was hosted by Lu Xichao, member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director of Liaoning Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism.

Dai Bin, President of the China Tourism Academy, Liu Weicai, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Director of the Liaoning Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, Shang Bin, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director of the Hunan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, Wang Xuguang, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Haichang Group, and Professor Yun Jiang, Dean of the School of Tourism and Hotel Management of Dongbei University of Finance and Economics, attended the closing ceremony and related activities.

With the theme of "Food in Northeast Asia, Tourism in New Liaoning", this event aims to implement the important speeches and instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping on culture and tourism through keynote speeches, experience sharing, results release, roundtable discussions and other forms. It aims to implement the spirit of the National Tourism Development Conference, explore the path of deep integration and development of "food + tourism", assist Liaoning Province in implementing the strategic goal of building a Northeast Asian tourism destination, and promote the steady and long-term development of the deep integration of culture and tourism.

Dai Bin, President of the China Tourism Academy, delivered a keynote speech entitled "The Strategic Position of Northeast Asia, the Historical Choice of Food Tourism", emphasizing that the construction of a Northeast Asian tourist destination is a historical choice that follows the trend. We can take the lead in concept introduction and regional planning, and take multiple measures from the spatial, market, and administrative levels to explore local paths for the tourism power plan. At the same time, President Dai Bin proposed that Liaoning's food tourism development has a macro foundation and social consensus from the perspectives of historical process and international vision, market evolution and administrative promotion, future prospects and policy recommendations, and that the next step is to cultivate new momentum for tourism development in various cities and promote the formation of food tourism destinations.

Shang Bin, member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director of the Hunan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, delivered a keynote speech entitled "The Taste of Hunan, Go to Hunan for a Flavorful Place", sharing how Hunan Province planned and implemented the "Ten Ones" series of activities to tell the Hunan story well, expand brand influence, boost cultural and tourism consumption, and promote open development, injecting strong momentum into the province's high-quality cultural and tourism development.

Wang Xuguang, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Haichang Group, pointed out in his keynote speech ""Born to the Sea"-Haichang's New Thoughts on the Integrated Development of Dalian's Culture and Tourism" that Haichang, as a representative of an enterprise that "broke out" from Dalian, has made great achievements in culture and tourism. In the process of tourism development, we continue to incubate N+ Dalian local food, actively build a one-stop platform for food tourism during development, work hard to make up for the shortcomings of winter tourism in many aspects, and continue to accumulate experience for building a world-class marine cultural tourism holiday destination.

Wu Lingna, director of the Cultural and Tourism Economic Office of Quanzhou Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Film and Tourism, Jiang Yongqiang, deputy director of the Management Committee of Nanjing Confucius Temple-Qinhuai Scenic Belt Scenic Area, and Pan Jingwen, general manager of Kaifeng Tokyo Art Center Co., Ltd., shared their experiences in the development of food tourism on behalf of Quanzhou, the benchmark of "China's Top Ten Food Tourism Cities", Nanjing Confucius Temple Pedestrian Street, the benchmark of "China's Top Ten Food Tourism Streets", and Kaifeng Tokyo Art Center Co., Ltd., the benchmark of "China's Top Ten Food Tourism Enterprises".

At the meeting, President Dai Bin and Director Liu Weicai signed a strategic cooperation agreement on behalf of the China Tourism Academy and the Liaoning Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism.

The China Tourism Academy has established the "China Tourism Academy Northeast Asia Tourism Destination Observation Station" in five cities including Shenyang, Dalian, Dandong, Chaoyang and Panjin, and held a plaque awarding ceremony on site.

During the report release session, Dr. Wu Fenglin, Director of the Planning and Leisure Research Institute of the China Tourism Academy, released a theme report on "Evolution of Food Tourism Development and Industry Practice" on behalf of the research team. He elaborated on the four aspects of "Why do we attach importance to food tourism?", "What kind of changes have food tourism experienced over the years?", "Why has food tourism made a city popular?", and "Dilemmas and solutions for food tourism industry practice?" He pointed out that food tourism has become the support for the new tourism image. We must face reality pragmatically, realize industrial development, learn from international experience, and realize the drive of culture on the development of food tourism.

Dr. Li Hui, on behalf of the Food Tourism Research Group of the China Tourism Academy, released the Liaoning Food Tourism Development Report. The report takes the construction of Northeast Asian food tourism destinations in Liaoning Province as its theme, sorts out the systematic context of the development of food tourism in Liaoning Province, analyzes the policy basis, resource basis, industrial basis and market basis for the development of food tourism in Liaoning Province, and puts forward suggestions from the aspects of overall planning, industrial integration, brand marketing, etc.

Director Wu Fenglin presided over the roundtable discussion. Zhang Yingjun, a fourth-level researcher at the Kaifeng Municipal Culture, Tourism, Radio, Film and Television Bureau, Zhao Ping, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Director of the Anshan Municipal Culture, Tourism and Radio, Film and Television Bureau, Zou Jizhi, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Director of the Yingkou Municipal Culture, Tourism and Radio, Film and Television Bureau, Vice President of Qingdao Haiyuanli Commercial Management Co., Ltd. Manager Zhou Zhen, President of Liaoning Provincial Catering and Cooking Industry Association and Chairman of Shenyang Laobian Food Co., Ltd. Cui Tao, President of Dalian Food Culture Association Gao Chengcong, Dean, Professor and PhD Supervisor of the School of Tourism and Hotel Management of Dongbei University of Finance and Economics, Yun Jiang, Fu Bing, dean and professor of the Green Island Hotel Management School of Shenyang City University and vice chairman of the National Hotel Industry Industry-Education Integration Community, and other experts and scholars focused on the development trends of food tourism, industrial integration and innovation, the cultivation of local specialty food brands, and the cultivation of food tourism talents. A lively discussion took place on other topics.

Liu Baosheng, executive vice president of Dalian Food Culture Association, shared his experience in Dalian’s food culture and tourism series of activities.

Finally, Lu Xichao, member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director of the Liaoning Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, read out the "Liaoning Consensus on Food Tourism" and announced the closing of the Northeast Asia Food Culture and Tourism Week in Liaoning Province.
