On December 6, the "Leisure, Health Care and Ice and Snow Tourism - Liaoning Province's Series of Activities for Building a Northeast Asian Tourism Destination" was held in Shenyang, Liaoning, jointly sponsored by the China Tourism Academy and the Liaoning Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, and hosted by the Shenyang Municipal Bureau of Culture, Tourism and Radio and Television and the People's Government of Huanggu District, Shenyang. The event revolved around the theme of "Ice, Snow, Warm Sunshine, Leisure Liaoning" and included keynote speeches, achievement exchanges, local practices, guest dialogues, expert lectures and professional training. More than 150 experts and scholars, representatives of the cultural and tourism system and tourism enterprises, and media reporters participated in the event.
Li Zhongguang, Vice President of China Tourism Academy, delivered a speech. He affirmed the series of achievements made by Liaoning Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism in building a Northeast Asian tourism destination, pointed out that leisure, health care and ice and snow tourism are new directions in line with market development, and expressed that China Tourism Academy will give full play to its resources and advantages in theoretical research and industrial practice to help Liaoning Province's tourism industry develop with high quality in multiple dimensions.
Xu Hongying, first-level inspector of the Liaoning Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, pointed out in her speech that since the beginning of this year, Liaoning Province has achieved outstanding results in market vitality, product supply, service quality, and integration of culture and tourism. She emphasized the importance of Liaoning Province's series of activities to build a Northeast Asian tourism destination for the high-quality development of Liaoning Province's tourism.
In the keynote speech session, Wei Guoxue, a researcher at the Macroeconomic Research Institute of the National Development and Reform Commission, delivered a keynote speech entitled "A Preliminary Exploration of the Ice and Snow Economic System and the Path of High-quality Development". He gave a comprehensive interpretation of the ice and snow economy from four aspects: the theoretical connotation of the ice and snow economy, the ice and snow economic policy system, the actual constraints and problems facing development, and ideas and suggestions for promoting high-quality development. He also put forward suggestions for Liaoning Province to promote the development of ice and snow resources into an ice and snow economy.
Liu Jiaming, a researcher at the Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences, shared his development experience with the topic of "Promoting the Quality Upgrading of Tourism in Liaoning Province by Developing Health and Wellness Travel". He comprehensively analyzed the characteristics and motivations, development trends and operation models of health and wellness travel, and proposed development strategies to promote the development of coastal, hot spring and mountain resort destinations through health and wellness travel based on the specific situation in Liaoning Province.
During the results exchange session, Dr. Li Xue from the Planning and Leisure Research Institute of the China Tourism Academy shared "Characteristics and Trends of National Leisure Development in my country", arguing that at this stage, national leisure awareness continues to increase, and leisure methods and leisure scenes are becoming increasingly diverse; he analyzed the characteristics of national leisure behavior and the current difficulties, and based on this, proposed countermeasures and suggestions for promoting the development of national leisure and improving the quality of national leisure.
Wu Fenglin, director of the Planning and Leisure Research Institute of the China Tourism Academy, released a research report titled "Strategy and Practice of Liaoning Province in Building a Northeast Asian Tourism Destination". He comprehensively sorted out the implementation process of Liaoning Province in building a Northeast Asian tourism destination from four aspects: strategy proposal, strategy promotion, research preparation, and action practice. He believed that as the first stop out of the hinterland of North China and a passage to the sea for the vast Northeast, under the overall leadership of the provincial party committee and government and the pragmatic promotion of the provincial department of culture and tourism, Liaoning Province's strategic goal of building a Northeast Asian tourism destination will surely be efficiently promoted and become an important support for a strong tourism country, a strong tourism province, and a demonstration site for the integration of high-quality culture, sports and tourism in Liaoning Province.
In the subsequent local practice sharing session, Yue Yang, member of the Party Leadership Group and deputy director of the Shenyang Municipal Bureau of Culture, Tourism and Radio and Television, and Liu Xianglin, general manager of Liaoning Tianqiaogou Scenic Area Tourism Management Co., Ltd., respectively promoted the development of leisure, health care and ice and snow tourism in Shenyang City and Dandong Tianqiaogou Scenic Area. Li Bowen, professor at the School of Tourism of Beijing Union University and executive director of the Institute of Tourism Planning and Development, Hou Minghui, founder of Ice and Snow Headlines, secretary-general of the Beijing Skating Association and general manager of Huateng Ice and Snow, Peng Jian, professor at the School of Management of Minzu University of China and vice dean of the Graduate School, and Hu Yongjun, deputy general manager of Beijing Expo Investment and Development Co., Ltd. commented on the above sharing.

During the guest dialogue session, Wu Fenglin, as the host, had in-depth exchanges and discussions with Li Bowen, Peng Jian, Hou Minghui, Hu Yongjun and Zhang Chaoyang, deputy general manager of Shenyang Tourism Group, on the theme of "Leisure, Health Care and Ice and Snow Tourism".
In the afternoon, Zhang Yang, director of the Data Analysis Institute of the China Tourism Academy, and Han Yuanjun, director of the Ice and Snow Tourism Project of the China Tourism Academy, gave special lectures entitled "Analysis of Tourism Market Trends and Economic Situation" and "Market Evolution and Policy Orientation of Ice and Snow Tourism in my country" respectively.
