On the afternoon of February 26, Dai Bin, President of the China Tourism Academy, met with Alberto Jesús Blanco Silva, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Cuba to China, in Beijing. The two sides held a special meeting on the continuous promotion of tourism cooperation between China and Cuba, the enhancement of friendship between the two peoples, and the strengthening of tourism data exchange. Both sides agreed that tourism cooperation is an important part of the friendly relations between China and Cuba, and is of great significance for promoting cultural exchanges between the two countries and enhancing mutual understanding between the peoples. Dai Bin said that he would further strengthen cooperation with the Cuban Ministry of Tourism, renew the memorandum of cooperation, and support the holding of the Cuba International Tourism Expo.
Also attending the meeting were Ms. Elizabeth Cristina Vela Jaime, Tourism Counselor for Asia of the Cuban Ministry of Tourism, Dr. Ma Yiliang, Chief Statistician of the China Tourism Academy, and Dr. Liu Xiangyan, Associate Researcher of the Institute of International Studies (Institute of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan).
